Matted & farmed. Together with two others. Very good condition with the usual overall gentle light toning and wear. 19.25" x 15".

William Henry Pyne was an English writer, illustrator and painter, who also wrote under the name of Ephraim Hardcastle. He initially trained at the drawing academy of Henry Pars in London and first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1790 . Founder of the Old Water-Colour Society in 1804, his work includes 600 illustrations for Microcosm of London (1803-06), The Costumes of Great Britain (1808) and specialized in pictorial scenes decorations and furnishings of Windsor Castle, St. James's Palace, Carlton House, Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace.
