Large classically shaped Amphorae – a pale brown/gray/red with tiny white/lime bits terracotta container having an elongated, slightly ribbed conical body tapering to a peg toe, two handles pinched at an upper angle and a hollowed rounded shoulder merging with a narrow neck biconical rim.
11" x 19 1/2" H (match label #2 for pickup)
The main terracotta body with a good patina and remains of a pale brown/gray/red glaze with tiny white/lime bits, the whole surviving from the early twentieth century. Structurally sound and very good antique condition with slight curved hairline bruise/scratch/crack at center side of mid-body (see photo). Normal imperfections exist, as wear commensurate with age and use. Encrustations of the find gives this piece a very special charm.
